Expected Power (xP)

Expected Power (xP) shows the expected team performance in matches with similar conditions to show what level of performance is expected against the opponent.

How is xP calculated?

This metric reflects the expected team performance based on a large set of matches with similar conditions and is compared against the opponent's corresponding values. Similar to how ball possession is expressed as a percentage, this metric reflects a team's expected performance relative to the opponent in real time.

Understanding the Scores

Expected Power (xP) always adds up to 100 between both teams. If your team has 55, the opponent has 45 — meaning your team was expected to perform slightly better.

Where It’s Used in the App

Expected Power is shown across key sections of the app:

  • Performance Graph — compare real vs expected team performance

  • Real-Time Advantage (rtA) — difference between rtP and xP

  • rtPI & Similar Matches — used to group teams with the same expected level to find similar matches

  • Insights & Trends — benchmark for identifying standout performances

Only Available During Live Matches

This feature relies on real-time match data and becomes available only while the game is in progress.

How Often Is the Data Updated?

Expected Power (xP) is updated live during the match as new stats come in. This ensures the expected level always reflects the current game context.
